Postal Paychecks Smaller Due to Expiration of Payroll Tax Cut


Many postal employees are seeing a surprise drop in their net pay on their first paycheck of the 2013 year. On average, postal pay will be reduced an average of about $40-$50 per payday starting on the January 4th, 2013 payday. The decline in pay is due to the expiration of the payroll tax cut, reverting rates from 4.2% to 6.2%.
